A four-alarm fire broke out late September 23rd at a popular downtown Tulsa restaurant that connects to several apartments and another pub and restaurant. Fire crews worked from Saturday into Sunday morning to ensure complete extinguishment of hot spots. Three district chiefs, 12 fire trucks, and over 50 firefighters responded and extinguished the fire. The fire originated at Lowood around 5 p.m. and spread quickly, eventually erupting through the roof.

The two restaurants, Hodge Bend and Lowood are significantly damaged and it may end up being a total loss for both. The apartments also had significant damage and several families had to relocate. The initial call came in regarding a resident trapped in the apartment building, but everyone was safely out of the building when rescuers arrived. No injuries were reported at this time. The Tulsa Fire Department stated their preliminary investigation shows this was an accidental fire related to a vent above the stove in the restaurant kitchen. They do not believe they can save the over 100-year-old building.
