A large fire at an Ohio fertilizer company occurred on April 16th in Mount Sterling, Pickaway County. A little after 3:00 AM, multiple fire units rushed out to the Nutrien Ag Solutions facility. Rescuers approached the fire as a hazmat situation due to the type of agricultural chemicals that are stored there, allowing the fire to die out on its own. Nutrien Ag Solutions is the retail division of Nutrien Ltd., a leading supplier of fertilizers, crop protection products, and agronomic services, delivering support and solutions to growers across North America.

There were no injury reports from the fire at the Ohio fertilizer company, and it was contained to only one building. Contractors successfully contained the chemicals, including fertilizers and pesticides, preventing them from entering the nearby streams. The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) actively monitored the scene. Air quality was tested due to smoke, but no elevated chemical levels were detected in the area. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but Ohio State Fire Marshals are investigating, and a single explosion is believed to have triggered the fire.
