Late afternoon on Tuesday, March 26th, a large fire ignited at a Red Roof Inn motel in Savannah, Georgia. The motel evacuated all guests within a few minutes of seeing heavy smoke. The fire was contained from impacting nearby businesses and extinguished within hours.

Over 70 people were displaced, but thankfully no one was injured. In a heartening display of community support, the Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and The Chatham County Animal Services swiftly stepped in, providing kits and helping place families in temporary shelters, including those with animals in need. This rapid response from these organizations is a testament to the strength and unity of the local community.
