North Las Vegas emergency services received calls on August 5th, regarding a fire at an apartment complex. Responders arrived on the scene at 7 AM. They found the three-story complex up in flames on North Fifth Street at Centennial Parkway. Approximately 75 rescuers responded, and 25 fire department vehicles assisted in extinguishing the two-alarm blaze. Rescuers fought the fire using a defensive approach to contain the flames and protect surrounding buildings. Emergency crews evacuated all buildings in the vicinity. Fire crews fully extinguished the blaze within three hours.
Unfortunately, two injuries occurred: One construction worker sustained injuries after jumping from the upper floor, and a firefighter received treatment for a heat-related illness and was released later that evening. Investigators continue to examine the specific cause of the blaze. They have determined that it most likely resulted from an accident related to the use of construction materials or work processes. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities actively collect additional information to confirm the origin.
